Project Silverback is LURA’s first engine development programme that aims to give students experience in developing rocket propulsion systems. The programme aims to finish with the hotfire of the Silverback engine – an electric propellant feed liquid rocket engine, that uses liquid oxygen. Before initiating the Silverback engine, the team will learn about propulsion in smaller and more steady steps by developing a smaller scale pressure-fed engine and building an engine test platform for performing hotfires.
